I live across the street from a...church? Museum? I'm not entirely sure.
I've noticed what looks like a giant nest on top of it but I assumed it was vacant. Not so. Today I came in to the living room to find my roommate taking pictures out the window. She called me over to see who was residing in the giant nest.
Giant birds! I guess that makes sense since it's a giant nest and all.
I managed to formulate a sentence asking what type of birds they were. When Rocio answered with the proper spanish word I realized I still had no idea (duh) but played along nodding and saying "si" as I do most of the time when I'm actually clueless. But then, she brilliantly gestured and said that they carry babies and then I got it...these are storks!

How interesting! The things you'll see in random places. Love it!
That is a huge nest! I don't think I've ever seen a real picture of a stork until now. I love playing Spanish charades! Your roommate seems nice, and that can make a big difference in your stay. Have a great Friday!
Wow, I don't think I've ever seen that big of nest before, or a stork. Hope things are going well...
Hope you're hanging in there :) I find eating a really good comfort food always help improve my mood when I'm in a foreign city.
It won't change where you are, but it can be a comfort of being back home eating foods you like.
I have never seen a nest that big! They are pretty neat looking birds. I suppose if you were carrying a baby in a blanket, you'd have to be a big bird.
I wonder if you and your roomate could talk to each other via IM. Both on a computer.... using a translator program. Those programs must be out there or right on your computer already. Then you could type each other notes while you and her both learn each others language.
Or you could send each other emails about your plans for the day or how your day was... etc.
I was serious about the care package. Send me your address through email and I will send you something sweet from home. Do you like coffee? Regular or decaf? Ground or whole beans.... it's on its way.
Cheers~Ivy
nice photos :) man, those birds are freakin' enormous! i hope they deliver normal-sized babies..
I don't know why, but that cracked me up. You have storks for neighbors! They are kinda cute. I bet Giz would love being their friend!
