Counting My Blessings

Ya'll, today was a great day!

First: I got the staples removed from my back and it wasn't nearly as scary as I anticipated. It did hurt a little, but it was only a tinge. Plus, I only had six staples so I shouldn't complain.

Second: The nurses said I was recovering very well!

Third: I get to stop wearing the white-stockings-of-hideousness! This is a win for everyone because no one should have to look at me in those. Mama and I promptly threw them in the trash, although I personally wanted to rip their head off them apart and burn the pieces.

Fourth: I got to leave my house for the first time in a week! I went to Starbucks...which is totally lame, I know, but I live in the worst little suburb with nothing interesting to do. Anyway, it was great to be out but if I'm honest it didn't last long. I'm still weak enough that when I exert that much energy I get really hot and tired. So, either it's the surgery after-effects or I'm menopausal. ;)

Fifth: My mom made a delish chocolate cake with mocha frosting for absolutely no reason. Have I ever mentioned eating is one of my favorite hobbies? I have quite the sweet tooth as well.

So I was thinking with all this talk of hobbling around, menopause and white stockings you're probably starting to wonder if I am not, in fact, actually an old lady. I've been a bit self-camera-shy on this blog, but I guess it's time for a reveal...

Oops! I really am an old lady/Vampire/Ghost!

Ok, not really. Although this really is a picture of me...when I played a ghost (a sexy ghost) in a play when I was seventeen. Hehe! And lest you think I jest or just have a high opinion of myself, the role really was a sexy ghost. I came back to haunt my husband/try to kill him so he'd come be with me in the afterlife. Did I mention I used to love doing theatre? Can't you see why? Miss it.

Happy Friday, indeed!

I cringed at the mention of back staples. But I'm a big baby. The worst thing I've ever done to myself is broke my thumb, so anything remotely painful and I'm FREAKING out!

ohmygosh (one word, really fast) I love to eat too! It's only one of the best things ever (how I'm not a super fatty I don't really know). AND I did theater all of high school and I loved it/miss it!

I'm so glad you're recovering well girl! And going to starbucks is never lame, I don't know what crazy place you live in where that could be even maybe considered lame. haha

Found your blog while puttering around the internet. Congrats on the quick recovery from your surgery. I bet Starbucks has never tasted so good! And you didn't even have to wear the awesome stockings to get your coffee - double win!
