Good Book: I just finished reading the most incredible book. At first, when I realized how sucked into the book I was, I felt like an idiot. Why did I start a book during the month when I am trying to write 50,000 words? Of course, then I realized that although I was slacking off on writing for a couple of days, I was also speeding through said book and would be able to get back to writing in no time.
The book is Extraordinarily Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer. Read it, oh do. It's a little bit heartbreaking, but his characters are vivid and it feels like they're speaking straight to your heart.
Also, if you have a Nook, I believe it's one of the books with a "Lend Me" option, so tell me and I can lend it to you...or rather, I can try to figure out how that feature works and hopefully lend it to you. :)
My favorite and least favorite part of a good book [emphasis good] is the end. It's so satisfying but so depressing because it means you have to leave that world and that story behind. If you're lucky, it's a series. Of course, then when a series comes to an end (shout out to my boy, Harry!) it's that much harder to say goodbye to the characters and the story.
If you read it, let me know what you think!

I've wanted to read that book forever. I finally bought and I only have to finish the book I'm on now, so I can start it :)
I agree with you. Good books are wonderful - but when they come to an end it's painful. Sometimes I wish I didn't start at all.
Hope you have a great weekend!
you are so clever and sneaktastic! i always spell grey like <-that, and i don't really know why. i like it better i guess.
and i am always looking for new books ro read. i read super fast and pretty much absorb a book in a day, so if you want to throw a few more out i won't hate you :)
congrats on almost being an aunt!! it is the most amazing thing in the world, other than being the mother of such a precious baby.
I LOVE JONATHAN SAFRAN FOER.
You have to read his other novel, Everything is Illuminated. It's not nearly as amazing as Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close but it is along the same vein. In addition, his wife, Nichole Krauss is a true talent as well. Her novel, The History of Love, is one of my favorites. She just came out with a new book that I have but haven't had a chance to even pick up what with school reading. Sigh!
I hope you're doing well and that your novel is coming along!
extremely loud and incredibly close is one of my favorite books ever. in fact, i'm pretty sure that oskar is one of my favorite characters of all time. he is so honest and naive and wise and adorable. it broke my heart and made me happy at the same time!
i second the idea that you should read everything is illuminated! i love it too, although it took me longer to get into the story.
Yay! You're going to have a nephew! We have all nieces in my family, I want a nephew! Also, I need to read this book! I totally trust your book-judgment, so I want to pick it up ASAP.
Oh, and Graydon.. that is such a cute and original name!
