Today I feel light.
And happy and happy and happy and happy.
I finished a most excellent book that was recommended to me by a dear blog friend probably almost a year ago. Everyone go read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. I fell in love with all the right characters and I’m pretty sure the last line qualifies as one of my favorite last lines ever.
Remember how I’m going to Spain soon? What are your recommendations for a digital camera? I’m looking to replace mine before the big move so I can document everything. I’m not a very good photographer so I’m not wanting to buy the most expensive professional camera ‘cause I wouldn’t do it justice. But I would like something that can take my mediocre picture taking abilities and somehow make the pictures turn out well. So, lay it on me, what (basic) camera do you swear by?
Last week my sister did a silly photo shoot with me. {More of that coming soon.} But once the “real” pictures were done, we were playing “America’s Next Top Model”-- she was clicking away at the camera wildly, moving about and changing angles, and I was throwing up goofy poses left and right. I didn’t realize until I downloaded her photos later that she had actually been taking pictures. They are blurry, they show off my worst angles, my nose (my least favorite feature) looks the size of Mt. Everest, and because the camera was close up you can see my broken out skin.
But I love them.
At first, I thought it was just because I look happy. But on further reflection I think it’s because they remind me of the imaginative little girl I was, still am deep down inside; the one who wasn’t afraid to dance around and pose and skip and look ridiculous.
And happy and happy and happy and happy.

I am this happy today.

I am THIS happy that you're THAT happy. I can't wait for your adventure in Spain to start. It's going to be amazing. And I certainly hope I'll get a post card or two!! :)
(PS the text you sent me today made my day!)
so fun! i'm glad you're so happy.
you look lovely! (and you're not a bad photographer! don't know what you're talking about, sillyface!)
I just got back from work...it's almost 8:30 and I am about to collapse.
I bought 500 Days of Summer today...Gordon-Levitt is filming right in my neighborhood now and I've been craving that movie and missing you, so when I found it super cheap at 7-11 (which OMG is one of my new favorite places now), I grabbed it. Minor note, but I think knowing those small stupid everyday things helps us feel closer!
So happy that you are happy! It makes my heart smile. 8)
I can't believe you will be leaving for Spain soon! I'm so excited to see the adventures it holds for you!
As far as cameras, I have a panasonic lumix point and shoot camera and I love it. It takes great pictures. A bit pricy but worth it in my opinion!
<3
Get either a canon or a nikon. Go for companies that have been making cameras since they used film. sony, samsung, panasonic? sure, I'm sure they make decent cameras, but in my experience (and according to my brother who is an experienced photographer) Canons capture the best colors, and are incredibly user friendly.
If you're looking for a digital point and shoot, go for a Canon Powershot. I think they newest one is the powershot sd1400, but anything from sd1000 and up should be perfect for your travels.
p.s. Have a great time in Spain! I just got back from madrid, where I was living for six months, and I loved that city. I highly recommend it.
Yay! I love a happy post!
I used to have a Powershot =]
I'm Happy your Happy :-)
*and to Tina JGL is in your neighborhood....get out of your house right now and so see him, if only so I can live through you because I <3 him!
