111 on 1/11

I don't normally focus on followers and blog popularity and that kind of thing and I certainly wouldn't normal blog about it... but something undeniably awesome came to my attention today.

I realized that yesterday I hit 111 followers. 111 followers on 1/11/11. Come on, how cool is that?

Thank you, #111 (I think it was Esra?) for giving me a little thrill. I don't know if you noticed this cool number coincidence too and followed me just to make it happen, but either way, I love it.

{With all this talk of numbers you'd think I was a math geek; But no, I hate math and math hates me.}

In light of this topic, I'd like to add one more thing: I love followers not because I crave popularity but because I love meeting new friends. I noticed that at the end of the last year I gained quite a few new followers and was constantly smiling to see that more people wanted to read the random things I have to say. But who are you? If you feel so inclined, would you say hello and introduce yourself in a comment to this post? Or email if you feel more comfortable. This is not a ploy for more comments, I'm fine if you never comment again, I just wanted to say 'hi' and not act like I don't know you're there.

Here, I'll start.

Hi! My name's Kate and I'm a chocoholic. I squirrel away chocolate in hidden places so that when I need a hit the most it's there. I got this habit (and probably my addiction) from my mother.
I love music, reading, and travel (clicheclichecliche) but I don't like things that are lemon-flavored or theme-park rides. Except for those giant merry-go-round swings. I really love swings. There are lots of other random things I could say about myself but that would probably get boring, plus I mention lots of them on this here blog.

Your turn!

Cheers. :)

Here's another 111 freaky fact:

1. Take the last two digits of your Birth Year

2. Take the age you will become in 2011

Add them together ......and, what do you get? FREAKY Huh!

Hi Kate! I know you sort of through twitter, and I've been reading your blog since last May.
My name is Teresa. I am your typical shy bookworm, though I'm working on the shy part. I love God (more than anything) reading, finding new books to read, writing (novels and poetry), singing, playing the piano, playing guitar, throwing one-woman dance parties, Full House, Broadway shoes, horses, Gilmore Girls, romance, Peeta Mellark, pretty much all things Disney, Italian (language and food), and chocolate — which I happened to be eating whilst reading this post.
I spend most of my time doing school, reading novels, talking completely in inside jokes with my little sister, talking about the future, and worrying about the future.
I love reading your blog, because you seem like the sweetest person in the world. Your posts are lighthearted and fun on the surface (and hilarious — not only are you funny, but you're clever too!), but it's easy to see the intelligence and deeper thinking of the person you are behind them. I've spent more than one day rereading all of your posts, and I always look forward to the next one.

Glad to be of service ;)

And I'd love to pretend I was clever enough to notice, but was a total fluke I'm afraid!

Nice to meet you Kate. I'm Esra (you know that), I've only just started this blog business and I'm just a bit rubbish at it.
I'm another Gilmore Girls fan - right now, reruns on tv are the only reason I get up early in the mornings (it's one of the jess seasons - swoon!)
I was born and raised in Scotland, but my dad is from Iraq and I've been lucky enough to take his faith, Islam - a religion that is far too misunderstood these days. I speak a little arabic, although only in an iraqi accent (i DIED when i went to egypt, couldn't undertsand a damn word anyone was saying). I want to learn french - I loved it at school. I'm a pharmacist, 5 months qualified. I love tea and how I take it completely depends on my mood. I love food and will eat pretty much anything. Can't cook to save myself though. I love film, and many genres of music. Also love a good book - reading The Thirteenth Apostle atm. I'm SO indecisve about everything. I love my family and friends. I believe everything happens for a reason (kismet?).

And I really enjoy your blog and the way you write. You seem lovely :)

(I can also ramble quite a bit, sorry..)

My mother gave me my chocoholic ways as well. The only thing lemon-flavored that I like is lemonade.

Hi Kate! I am your sister! Crazy huh? You know pretty much everything about me but here are some strange factoids to remember.
I don't like grape flavored anything but I like banana flavored things more than I like actual bananas. I love shopping for purses but dislike shopping for shoes. I wish I was as tall as you. I only have 16 followers because I am not as awesome as you. I used to have 17 but I guess someone realized how lame I am and ditched me (uncool!). I miss you tons and tons and can't wait to live on the same continent once more. XoXo -Sissy

It's nice to meet you lovely!

Wow! My introduction would be exactly like yours! Well, many people like music, books and travels. But I really dislike lemon-flavored things and I have never met anyone else who doesn't. And I can't go on theme-park rides because I throw up. (sorry)

And besides that: I live in Sweden, I love the summer and coffee (waaaay too much). Also I love your blog :) Haha.

Hello Kate!

My name is Noelle. I also am a chocoholic - I'm trying to break that.... but no luck so far :) Not sure if I am really upset with that or not. I found you through BBL I believe and loved your blog. I love your photography.

I love to read - I would spend all day, everyday in bed reading if I could... but my husband probably wouldn't be too happy with me. I was just married 6 months ago. I am a full time student. I enjoy creative, crafty projects. One day I hope to travel far.

Thats all I can really think of at the moment.

Hello!
I'm here because of your post over at LJ.
I'm also a book lover, and I'm fairly sure, although can't exactly remember, that I only started to read The Hunger Games because you recommended it!

I am a teacher of History in Wiltshire, UK although will be moving to Cornwall in September.
I've been attempting to write my blog regularly, but have mainly been failing. I want to change this in 2011 and maybe finally finish my Peru Trip reflections (3 years after I went!)

I'm so new to the blog world and I hope to be able to make friends the way you say you have! :)
