I live in Colorado (when I’m not away in Tennessee at college) and my family has a cabin in the mountains. If you’re familiar with Colorado, I’ll tell you our cabin is near Grand Lake/Winterpark. This trip was wonderful. The weather was incredible and we spent a lot of time strolling through the nearby towns instead of our normal mountain hikes and one day we took a scenic drive. It was a wonderful stay and I definitely feel refreshed. I stayed up late every night until all the lights in the area were out to see the stars. I swear there’s nothing better than a place where you can really see the stars.
Here’s a little pictorial recap of my week in the mountains.
Here’s a little pictorial recap of my week in the mountains.
We drove through clouds over the pass. I love driving through clouds, and so I tried to snap some pictures.
I love strolling around Grand Lake and this particular visit was exceptional. The town was teeming with people (and dogs! Yay!) and there was even a chili cook off going on which just added to the small town vibe. I just ate that charm right up. The visit included relaxing on a bench with an ice cream cone and taking this picture.
This is the valley we live to the side of…
Tuesday we took a scenic drive. We explored for a couple hours. I enjoyed the wind in my face, the music on my headphones, and these views…

That is a beautiful place! Great pictures. It must be hard to live soooo far away!
I have always loved mountains. Alas, I live in flatland, aka, Miami. The only mountains we have are made of refuse.
Happy anniversary to your mom and dad! My parents celebrated theirs recently. :)
Oh my gosh! Those mountains are amazing!
The pictures are beautiful! My favorite is the picture of the clouds over the pass! :)
Happy Anniversary to your parents!
Okay playing catch up after being gone on vacation again.
This pictures make me sick, but in a good way because I'm happy that you live there but sick that I'm not in Colorado too.
Happy Anniversary to your parents as well :)
