Tomorrow I get to escape to my family's cabin in the mountains (with the fam, natch!). It'll be bittersweet. I haven't been since last summer because I was barely home on winter break this year. However, I can't do too much in the way of hiking with my healing back. Instead, I'm bringing lots of books to read on the sunny porch. And hopefully I'll be able to take a the ski lift up for the view once or twice.
So, if you're wondering where I am while I'm MIA, just picture this...
I'll be driving with views like these:
Hopefully taking one of these--
--in order to appreciate this view:
But I won't be sitting on this ledge like I did last year:
No, this time I think I better stick to a cozy porch chair.

Nice!
We are going to the mountains today too!! I'm pretty excited! Have fun :)
Have a blasty blast Katie! Those photos are beautiful! Take care and come back to us in one piece!
I'm with you on sticking to a cozy porch chair. Much safer--and more comfortable!
where is this spectacular mountain house!? it looks beautiful!
ps.. i'm totes enjoying your mix and will keep it up even after i'm done commenting. THAT"S blog love!
katie, how exactly is your back? Do you have to wear a brace? Hang in there, I know it isn't fun :)
Also, I'm going to sound really weird right now, but I believe nature has total healing capabilities. Whenever I'm out in the mountains or some place like that I feel really alive. I hope it lifts your healing spirits.
Since you liked those songs, you might like the movie that goes along with a few of those songs. The movie is called "Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging." It's based off a book, have you heard of it? I watched the movie online and I loved it. It's a cheesy teen Nickolodeon film from the UK but it's very cute.
Bekah-That IS true blog love! I'm glad you like the music...I may be adding some Metric to it soon since you've just reminded me how amazing they are.
Malia, thanks for asking about my back. They didn't give me anything other than strict guidelines about what I can and can't do...mostly can't...and it's very difficult. I can't bend or twist and I can't carry anything over 10 pounds. It's very hard to remember not to twist. I sort of wish I had a brace because it would stop me from being able to bend/twist.
I have to tell you, you don't sound weird at all! I'm actually much the same in my beliefs about nature. If nothing else, nature always rejuvenates my spirit. In fact, I was praying this weekend on my deck and taking in the stars and at a particular part of my prayer I saw a shooting star and it felt very comforting and incredible. Thank you for all your well wishes!
I love a good fun corny movie. I will definitely try to track that one down.
