Cool as a Cucumber

The following is a picture of an actual cucumber I once ate photographed because it took me by surprise. Is this not, my friends, a worried cucumber?

Lately, I've been a worried cucumber.

It's almost time to head back to Memphis for school and with that comes a lot of traditional panic. All of a sudden I realize that my summer has run out and I have a huge to-do list.

1. Shop for Fancy-pants grown-up clothing for my Internship

2. Buy school books and supplies

3. Try to figure out how to move into the apartment when you can't carry anything over 20 lbs... (Compliments of the back surgery, not laziness)

4. Last minute time with friends and family in CO

5., 6., 7., 8., 9., ....20 billion

You get the idea.

So I did what I always do. I had a bit of a meltdown, slept on it, and then I got to work. I've gotten a lot done in the past few days and I'm multi-tasking like it's nobody's business. I'm seeing friends, buying khaki work pants, and working on various other projects (sewing, baking, loving life, the usual).

Sometimes you just have to let the worries go.

I'm not a worried cucumber anymore. I'm taking deep breaths and looking forward to a beautiful meteor shower tonight. I can think of no better way to celebrate the end of summer than to stay up 'til ungodly hours of the morning in order to watch stars fall across the sky.

You may feel free to laugh heartily at the fact that I decided to compare myself to a worried-looking cucumber in this post. But just imagine how guilty I felt eating that little cucumber slice with such a look on it's...face?
