I have so much I’d like to update on, but I don’t have the proper time or focus at the moment to do such a post. There is one little thing, however, that I’m obsessing over currently and talking about it couldn’t wait.
This summer I’ve been enjoying delving more into the world of baking. I’ve finally wandered beyond the world of packaged cake mixes and aiding me in my journey is the delightful Brooke from Conversations With A Cupcake . I am not at all completely and totally obsessed with her marvelous creations.
I’ve made a few of her recipes already this summer and while I meant to mention them, they got overlooked in the hustle and bustle of life. But yesterday I made her Honeyed Yogurt Cuppies and they cannot be denied.
I whipped up the ingredients, had a bit of a rough time getting the cupcakes to rise in the oven, and then mixed up the delicious Yogurt Frosting to top them. Finally, my replication of Brooke’s genius was done. I stared at the pretty but backed away and hid in my room from the aroma lest I dive in before dinner. That would be wrong…I think? Anyway, I used immense self-restraint and then as soon as dinner was done I unwrapped one and tasted.
Oh my goodness, ya’ll, I’m in lust. Yes, with a baked good.
They are so incredibly tasty! I’m rather proud that I’ve moved from box mix to this, and I'm definitely indebted to Brooke. I am heading to her blog from now on whenever I want to bake something interesting. Really, these little honey yogurt treats had me coming back several times today. It’d horrify you if I told you how many I ate. Ok, 5. I had 5 cupcakes in one day. And you know what? I’m not ashamed. They called to me and I answered.
Does my infatuation with food scare you? It should. But I promise I’m harmless.

He he!! I'm with Nancy!! I don't know how you waited. I would've had 5 before dinner and 5 more after!!
I'm gonna have to check out her site!!!!
Oh I tried one of her recipes, the burnt butter frosting and crystal berries. Oh my goodness. Probably the best frosting I've ever had!
Welcome to the world of real baking! It makes a big difference, I promise. You'll be able to tell the different between real and fake.
And about the 5...eat on girl! :)
Girl, I loooooove her blog! It's amazing. You have to comment and let her know you love her. I bet she would love to read this post!
Katie-
Well, oh, well. If this isn't the durned nicest thing that has ever graced my computer screen. Thank you. I'm tickled punch, and ever so glad that you're a believer in my baked goods. It brings great peace to my heart, knowing I'm not the only one indulging the joy that is baked yummies.
Bless you, darling. And, don't be surprised if I give you a shout out over at CwaC.
Hugs and Loves,
Brooke
