That's the way it should be

On Friday I went to Cordoba with my favorite Spanish family to watch their students perform in a song competition. It was cute watching all the different schools perform...the songs had to be in English for this competition and later I overhead dozens of students going up to their respective teachers asking what their singing lines had meant! It was hilarious and adorable. I was so proud of Carmen & her students. She took on teaching them "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"...no easy task! Their pronunciation was wonderful and their costumes precious (lots of tops hats, umbrellas, white dresses and red belts.)

Well, as I was waiting for the show to start, I noticed "Together" was a song listed on the program. Now many of the songs listed on the program featured misspellings or wrong titles. When I saw "Together" my mind immediately jumped to something like this...

{"We Go Together" from Grease}

I was humming in anticipation of a childhood favorite. To my confusion and dismay, when this number started it was actually more along the lines of this...

...It was "We're All in This Together" from High School Musical.

Oh my.

Times have changed, haven't they? When I was a little everyone wanted to do Grease numbers for Talent Shows or sing-alongs. Now it's High School Musical.

Don't mind me while I go right along singing the nonsense lyrics of "We Go Together." (What exactly is "chang chang changity chang shoo bop" anyway? Because apparently that's the way it should be...)

:)

we go together like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong, remembered forever as shoo bop sha wadda wadda yippity boom de boom, chang chang changity chang shoo bop, that's the way it should be, whoah, yeah!

hahaha I LOVE THAT SONG! I'll take any chance I can get to bust out the lyrics! My friends will groan and roll their eyes everytime :)

It totally breaks my heart that HSM is such a cheesy "copy" of Grease, and all these young'uns won't ever know that, sad face :( Excuse me while I go watch Grease over and over and over...

I like both movies, but I like that in HSM the girl didn't have to completely change her personality to end up with the guy, that's always bugged me about Grease. But both have great soundtracks :)

I was thinking "We Go Together" from the old school Parent Trap...

Oh well. We're old.

That part of the lyrics are supposed to be like scatting a drum solo.

Also, I admittedly am a HSM fan even though it's so cheesy and corny half of the time! HSM is probably more age appropriate than Grease though, even though I saw Grease when I was still in elementary school and a lot of it went over my head.
